What is recorded here

In rough, stony heather-grown pasture, located in a low NNE−SSW ridge, with a fall of ground to SE, providing good views, especially E−S−SW. Flat circular area (21.5m N−S; 22.5m E−W) enclosed at N−SW by a roughly built drystone wall (Wth 0.8-1m; H 0.8-1m). The wall is similar in size and construction to adjacent field walls. On the S half the wall appears to sit on a low berm/scarp (Wth 1.5-1.7m; H 0.3m), which projects slightly from beneath the wall. On the W arc the wall has been levelled, and can be traced only as a low, heather-covered stony rise. On the E half of the circuit, the wall now serves as a field/property boundary. Linear field walls abut the enclosure at NE, SE and S. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 10 June 2020
