In a thicket of overgrowth, located on the NE edge of an elevation, overlooking a river which lies c. 70m to E. Raised circular flat-topped area (diam. c. 25m E-W) defined on top by a bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 0.4m) of earth and stones. At S the platform has an external height of c. 3.5m. At W–N the steep sides are enhanced by the natural slope of the ridge (H c. 9-10m). Densely covered in trees and overgrowth. A folly (SL012-055002-), indicated as ‘Lady Margaret’s Tower’ on the 1913 OS 6-inch map, was located in the NE quadrant. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 7 May 2013
