Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Associated with a rath (GA122-001----), this well-preserved Man-made underground passage is located in the NNW sector of the fosse between the inner and outer banks. From the access point at its SW end the drystone-built passage (L >3m; Wth 0.78m max.; H 0.46-1.14m) initally runs staight but then curves eastwards where it ends at a squared off end wall. A possible creep is visible at the base of this wall. Drystone-walling (L 2.3m) extending to the SW from the entrance suggests the passage extended further in that direction.
