In flat low-lying boggy ground. A raised D-shaped area (dims. 29.5m N-S) with a straight S side (L 36m E-W) is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.4m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.5m). The entrance (Wth 2m), which is revetted in stone, is at E. The surrounding ground is planted with coniferous trees. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as wedge-shaped in plan, narrowing towards the E end.
