Ballyfahy Castle (in Ruins) — Report the wrong picture

Ballyfahy Castle stands as a rectangular shadow on a low drumlin in County Sligo, its walls reduced to sod-covered foundations that still mark a space fifteen by sixteen metres across. A tower house once rose from this pasture, visible into the 1970s before time and weather finished their work. The castle did not vanish in a day; it surrendered in layers, stone by stone, until only the outline remains for anyone willing to look closely at the grass.

In pasture, on the top of a low drumlin. The castle is now reduced to sod-covered foundations outlining a rectangular structure (int. dims: c. 15m N-S; c. 16m E-W; wall T 0.6m). A structure, which appeared to be the remains of a tower house, stood here into the 1970s (pers. comm. M. A. Timoney).
