Hut site in Shronebirrane

In rough hill pasture, to the N of a tributary of the Drimminboy River, on a S-facing slope of Knocknaveacal. The remains of a D-shaped hut site (2.1m N-S) defined by the collapsed lower courses of a roughly built, drystone wall (T c. 0.55m; H 0.6m) with a straight N side (L 3.2m E-W). The large, grass-covered stones of the lower courses are mainly laid horizontally and protrude above the bog. Three upright stone slabs (max. H 0.6m; 0.85m x 0.2m) are set on the line of the wall at S, N and E. The hut site is cut (D 0.8m) into the upslope at N. Rubble is scattered along the downslope at S. This hut site lies adjacent to the external face of the N wall of an enclosure (KE108-055004-). There is another hut site (KE108-055003-) c. 25m to the SW.
