What is recorded here

Clearing at the north end of Saints Island, in the SW corner of Lough Mask, holds a roughly circular dry-stone hut, 2.9m across, with a low tunnel entrance on the SE. Another possible hut sits to the west and two cross slabs to the southeast, as if the island kept a small neighbourhood of shelters and marks. Someone may have crouched through that narrow gap, listened to water moving around the island, and used the stones only long enough to leave them behind.

In a clearing, at the N end of Saints Island (MA120-008----), in the SW corner of Lough Mask. Recorded in An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District (Lavelle 1994, 81, no. 595) as a ‘roughly circular dry-stone structure (int. diam. 2.9m) with a low tunnel-like entrance feature (L 2m; H0.4m; Wth 0.5m) on SE.’ To W is another possible hut site (MA120-008003-) and to SE are two cross slabs (MA120-008001-; MA100-112002-).
