Málainn Bhig holds a collapsed circular hut and two stray walls on a rushy slope above the sea, part of a clustered settlement on Leahan Mountain. The main chamber measures barely two metres across, small enough for one person to stretch out beside a fire, while the unfinished annex suggests someone began building a second room and stopped. Heather now fills the gaps where stones fell, erasing the entrance and blending the work of human hands into the mountain itself.

In poorly drained rushy covered mountain pasture, in small river valley, on the SE facing slope of Leahan Mountain with views of the sea to the S and Slieve League to the W. A possible circular conjoined huts of drystone wall construction. NE circular-shaped hut (int. dims. 2.08m x 1.60) is defined by a low heather covered drystone wall (H 0.7-0.9m; T 0.9m) which has collapsed in places and has no evidence of an entrance feature. To the SE there are two drystone walls which are 1.55m apart running out from the SE face of the hut which either form a second hut or an annexe in front of the better preserved circular hut. These two walls are poorly preserved and do not return to meet each other in order to form a second hut. Nearby conjoined drystone hut (DG089-026011-) 60m to the SE. Located in an area of a dense concentration of hut sites which appear to make up a clustered settlement (DG089-026001/021).
