Hut site in Letter West

Hut site identified and described by Aoibheann Lambe as; 'situated in boggy upland pasture used for sheep grazing. It is one of 4 intervisible huts sites, two at an elevation of 350m and another two, 34m downhill to NE. They are situated N of Coomnacronia Lake on the E face of Beenmore, with Drung Hill to N. At NE, there are views down the valley beyond the range of hills of which Curra Hill, at 275m is the highest, to Dingle Bay and at E, to Seefin Mountain. Another 9 hut sites are 500m to NE downhill from this complex. 300m N of Coomnacronia Lake are the poorly preserved remains of two conjoined circular drystone huts defined by a rough outline of boulders. Neither an entrance nor a communicating passage is evident. This hut has an internal diameter of 2m with walls 0.75m thick and 0.5m high while the hut that conjoins it at NW has an internal diameter of 3m. To S, an early field wall, partly submerged by bog, runs uphill in a westerly direction. Parallel to this, directly upslope of these hut sites, a band of stony ground c. 6m wide, continues uphill and terminates before the next ridge'.
