Hut site in Lecarrow (murrisk By.)

Situated just outside the eastern limits of a settlement area (MA085-066----) that occupies the summit of a low hillock. The hut is partially set into the base of the eastern slopes of the hillock. It is visible as a small hollow, roughly circular in plan (2.5m NE–SW, 2.2m NW– SE). Although little if any trace of its limits are discernible along its western side, it is well defined by grassed-over boulders from S through N to E. These boulders are up to 0.35m high on the north- ern side. There are traces of a possible gap at NE. The above description is derived from: New Survey of Clare Island. Volume 5: Archaeology.
