What is recorded here

Kilbeg on Carbery East holds two conjoined circular huts inside a ringfort, a compact domestic cluster rather than a scattered field. They may have housed one family or two related households sharing a hearth, kitchen and yard. The conjoined shape suggests closeness, co-operation and perhaps tension under one roof.
In ringfort (CO143-005----). One of two circular conjoined hut sites (CO143-005001-, CO143-005002-) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
