Hut site in Inishshark

Hut site

What is recorded here

Intermittent hut traces are set into the thick bank of a promontory fort in Inishshark, with a field system stretching southwest. The huts may have belonged to keepers of the fort or workers in the fields beside it. They are no longer visible as complete rooms, but their marks still break the line of the bank.
There are intermittent traces of possible huts (GA009C001001-) set into the thickness of the bank of a promontory fort (GA009C001----) (pers. comm. M. Gibbons). A field system (GA009C002----) lies to the SW of the bank. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 13 November 2017
