Hut site in Inches (bear By.) — Report the wrong picture

Miskish Mountain still holds a circular hut twenty-eight feet across, buried beneath rushes and peat on a steep eastern terrace. The earthen bank remains visible through the grass, marking a small dwelling that faced the rising sun while a standing stone watched from forty-five metres west. Whoever built it chose a narrow ledge where rain would drain away and light would strike early, creating a warm room in a cold landscape.

In rough peaty hill pasture, within a network of relict field boundaries (CO114-075003-) on a terrace on the NE-facing slopes of Miskish Mountain. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.8m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 0.75m; H 0.25m) from which stones protrude at irregular intervals. The entire hut site is obscured by a dense cover of rushes. There is a standing stone (CO114-075001-) c. 45m to the W.
