Hut site in Gortacreenteen

In rough hill grazing on bog, on an E-facing gentle slope, overlooking the valley of the Slaheny River. The remains of a roughly circular hut (diam. 6m N-S; 5.2m E-W) defined by the collapsed lower courses of a stone wall (T 0.6m; max. H 0.5m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. Rubble is scattered intermittently in the interior and larger boulder-type stones are visible along the NW arc. There is an entrance (Wth 1m) along the SE arc. Another hut site (KE103-059----) is c. 13m to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
