Dromavally in Ballyferriter holds a circular stone foundation three metres across, not the grand bed of Cuchulainn but likely a humble shelter for sheep or people. The misnamed legend still cloaks the stones, yet the truth is smaller and more vivid: ordinary life, wool, rain and patience.

Cuchullin's Bed and Grave/Leaba agus Uaigh Chúchulainn: Though the features at this site have previously been interpreted as graves and cairns (OSM; Borlase 1897, 2; Killanin and Duignan 1962, 44), the present remains constitute a number of roughly-built enclosures and shelters, probably for sheep. Amongst these is a circular foundation, 3m in diameter and up to 1m high, which may have been a hut site. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
