Hut site in Dooneens (muskerry West By., Inchigeelagh Par.)

In rough hill grazing, on bog, on the N-facing slopes of Douce Mountain. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 6.6m) defined by a stone wall (T 1m; H 0.6m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The interior, which is in pasture, is raised at the N (H 0.6m) and cut (D 0.7m) into the upslope at the S to compensate for the hillslope. Rubble is spilling downslope to the N.
