Seventeen hut sites surround the Lissachiggel ringfort, suggesting a crowded village rather than a lonely farmhouse. This particular hut was one of many, perhaps belonging to a baker, smith or tenant, its wooden walls long since rotted into the soil. The density implies collaboration, shared labour and constant noise, transforming a quiet field into a bustling neighbourhood where people lived, worked and argued beneath the same sky.
