Bere Island is home to the hut site in Derrycreeveen. A circular stone wall still breaks through the bog, marking a small dwelling from before written records. The standing stone nearby suggests the place remained important long after its builder stopped coming and going.

In rough grazing, on bog, on a break on the S-facing slopes of Bere Island. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 3.2m) defined by a stone wall (T 1.1m; H 0.4m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The interior of the hut site is obscured by rubble.
