Hut site in Coomcallee

In rough upland pasture, on the E bank of the Gaddagh River on the N-facing slopes of Macgillycuddy's Reeks. The remains of a rectangular hut site (2.7m N-S; 2.2m E-W) defined by the lower courses of a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.9m). Rubble is scattered along the perimeter and it obscures the entrance at S. The remains of a small rectangular annexe (2.2m E-W; 0.5m N-S) at N are in a jumbled state. Another hut site (KE073-052002-) is c. 15m to the NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
