Clashduff holds a rectangular hut carved into a northern slope, its stone walls still standing one metre high beside the Healy pass road. The structure measured four metres north-south and three metres east-west, large enough for one person or a small family to shelter from West Cork weather. Its north and west faces remain visible while the other sides have sunk beneath grass and time. Whoever built it chose a rocky ledge above a river tributary, perhaps watching the valley fog or waiting for someone to return.

Rectangular shaped house or hut site, measuring c4m N-S and c3m E-W with walls surviving up to 1m in height. It has been partially dug into the slope on the northern side to create a level interior. It is situated in an area of rocky outcrops and rough grazing to the west of a tributary of the Clashduff River and the Healy pass road. The stonework survives on the north and west sides while the rest consists of the overgrown lower courses. Compiled by: Tony Miller Date of upload: 30 August 2018
