Bunnamohaun on Clare Island holds a ruined circular hut beside a long meandering field wall, marking a settled life above the northern cliffs. The stones are largely hidden by sods, but the shape remains clear enough to imagine a person pulling turf, herding stock, or watching the sea from that rocky knoll. The wide commonage and distant cliffs suggest the hut was not hidden, but placed where the land, sky and water could be read at a glance.

At the NW end of Clare Island, located on a rocky knoll in an open expanse of coastal commonage. High cliffs drop to the sea c. 200m to N. This consists of a rough arc (3.5-4m N–S) of loose stones which may represent the W half of a circular hut site. It is poorly defined and largely sod-covered. Immediately to E is a field wall which describes an irregular, meandering arc (c. 35m N–S) across the E slope of the knoll; it is one of several relict field walls on the W, N and E slopes the knoll, which are part of an extensive field system (MA084-001001-) which spreads to W and S.
