Hut site in Ballahacommane

Hut site

What is recorded here

Mangerton Mountain looms south from a hidden ridge in County Kerry, where a two-metre circular hut still stands beside a small cairn and a second dwelling. The drystone wall has partially collapsed, yet its southeast entrance remains clear enough for one person to step inside. The site feels less like a forgotten ruin and more like a chamber waiting for someone to remember why it was built.
In a heavily overgrown area of rough pasture, on the S-facing slopes of a NW-SE ridge, with views S to Mangerton Mountain. The remains of a roughly circular hut (diam. 2m) defined by a partially collapsed drystone wall (T 0.8m; H 1m). The entrance (Wth 1m) is at SE. A cairn (KE067-119011-) is c. 2m to the E and another hut site (KE067-119014-) is c. 12m to the SSE.
