Hut site in Alohart

In rough upland pasture, on the edge of a terrace on the N-facing slopes of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks. The remains of an oval hut site (5.2m E-W; 2.8m N-S) defined by the vertical face of outcropping rock (H 1.3m) SE-SW and by a collapsing drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 1.1m) SW-SE, which narrows as it rises. There is a collapsed entrance at the E. Another hut site (KE073-005001-) lies c. 8m to the S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
