Hut site in Aghamore (rosclogher By., Glencar Ed)

Hut site

What is recorded here

Ten metres south of one hut and a hundred metres from a wedge tomb, a rectangular stone spread marks a forgotten room on the Karst plateau. People may have lived, hidden or remembered beside these stones before the land swallowed their names.
Situated on an area of exposed karst (dims c. 200m N-S; c. 130m E-W) that is fairly flat and is on a broad plateau which slopes down generally to the SE. This is a rectangular area (int. dims 3.5m E-W; 2.3m N-S) defined by a stone spread (Wth c. 1m), which overlies circular hut-site (LE006-030010-). Hut-site (LE006-030011-) is c. 10m to the S, and wedge tomb (LE006-033----) is c. 100m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 January, 2016
