Howth Castle stands as a three-bay four-storey medieval tower house dating to c.1400, featuring a base batter and crow stepped crenellated parapet. A single-bay five-storey crenellated corner turret rises on a square plan at the south west, while timber sash windows occupy openings remodelled in 1738. The structure displays roughcast rendering over rubble stone walls, a double pitched slate roof, and a moulded string course across the top floors.
