What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) a stone house and 120 acres at Great Graiges was the property of James Lewes in 1640 together with 120 acres at Lambestown (Simington 1953, 170). A house is marked on the Down Survey barony map of Shelborne at Great Graiges in NLI (ms 725, microfilm P7384, N6380), but the parish terrier or commentary records 190 acres in this townland. The Hook section of this map is published (Colfer 2004, 102, Fig. 17). The precise location of this house is not known.
