Attached five-bay two-storey townhouse, extant 1838, on a rectangular plan. Reroofed. Replacement pitched artificial slate roof with ridge tiles terminating in rendered chimney stacks having stepped capping supporting terracotta pots, slightly sproketed or swept eaves, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on cut-limestone eaves. Rendered, ruled and lined walls with bull nose-detailed rendered panelled quoins to ends. Segmental-headed central door opening approached by flight of four slate-covered steps with moulded rendered surround framing timber panelled door having fanlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, and moulded rendered surrounds framing one-over-one timber sash windows to front (north-west) elevation having part exposed sash boxes with six-over-six (ground floor) or three-over-six (first floor) timber sash windows (remainder). Interior including (ground floor): central hall retaining timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors; and timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with timber panelled shutters to window openings. Street fronted with concrete footpath to front.

A townhouse representing an integral component of the domestic built heritage of Westport with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such traits as the symmetrical footprint centred on a Classically-detailed doorcase; and the diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated tiered visual effect. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the historic or original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, thereby upholding the character or integrity of a townhouse making a pleasing visual statement in Newport Street.
