What is recorded here

Discovered during pre-development excavation associated with the Drogheda Main Drainage and Wastewater Disposal Scheme in 1996 (Excavation Licences 96E0160 and 98E0299). The walls (Wth c. 1.35m; H 0.9m) of a thirteenth-century building, a cobbled floor and a stone lined well were uncovered. Two doorways (Wth 1.45m) were found in the building leading to Dyer Street. Finds recovered include several bronze buckles, two medieval coins and a leather shoe. (pers. comm.
