What is recorded here

Attached four-bay three-storey house, built c. 1840, having recent timber shopfront to front (west) elevation. Pitched slate roof with brick chimneystacks and render bracketed eaves course. Rendered walls having render quoins. Square-headed openings with moulded render surrounds, painted sills having consoles and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Those to second floor having render continuous sill course. Shopfront comprising fluted pilasters with consoles and fascia. Segmental-headed display windows. Square-headed opening having overlight and timber panelled door.
This building's scale is similar to the surrounding buildings and therefore makes a positive contribution to the streetscape. Well-executed decorative render details enliven its façade and its form is enhanced by the retention of interesting features such as the timber sash windows.
