Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800. Pitched thatched roof having raised scolloped ridge, and rendered chimneystack. Whitewashed walls. Square-headed window openings having painted stone sills and replacement timber windows. Square-headed door opening having replacement timber door. Outbuilding to east of site having pitched corrugated-iron roof with whitewashed stone walls and square-headed door opening. Rendered piers and plinth wall with metal railings to front of house boundary.

The low elevation and chimneystack, thick walls and small openings are typical of the vernacular tradition in Ireland. Once common throughout the countryside and small villages, thatched buildings have become increasingly rare, and the survival of this example is notable. It retains its original form and structure. The outbuilding and garden wall are typical features which add context to the site.
