House

House, indeterminate date

What is recorded here

Situated on a low rise, on the ENE side of a hill, in rough scrubby pasture, with good views to SE and NW. Outline of a house site in E quadrant of ringfort (WM024-105----) consists of a roughly sub-rectangular-shaped platform (13.6m E-W; 9.4m N-S) defined by a scarp. In the W quadrant is a roughly oval-shaped rise which may represent a second house site. A very slight earth and stone bank extends from this to the NW where it intersects the ringfort bank. The fragmentary remains of a third possible house site adjoin the ringfort bank in the NE quadrant. See attached plan and profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 21 August 2019
