What is recorded here

Located in an undulating landscape. Indicated as a small enclosure only on the 1835 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Two house sites defined by grass covered stone footings are placed 1.5m apart. Both the N house (LE001-001----) and the S house (ext. dims 7.6m NW-SE; 4m NE-SW) have entrances on each long wall. Just 6m to W and 13m to NW are the foundations of two other houses (LE001-001002-; LE001-001003-). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 September 2008
