Terraced single-bay three-storey house, c.1810, on a corner site with single-bay three-storey side elevation to south-east. Refenestrated, c.1910. Reroofed and renovated, c.1960, with openings remodelled to ground floor to accommodate commercial use. Now disused. One of a pair. Hipped (shared) roof behind parapet with replacement artificial slate, c.1960, clay ridge tiles, no chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted rendered walls with rendered detailing to parapet. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and replacement 1/1 timber sash windows, c.1910. Square-headed openings remodelled, c.1960, to ground floor of both elevations with fixed-pane timber display windows, glazed timber doors having overlights, and timber fascias over. Road fronted on a corner site with concrete brick cobbled footpath to front.

A picturesque small-scale house, built as one of a pair (with 22821097/WD-31-21-97), which retains its original form and massing, together with important salient features and materials to the upper floors, which enhance the historic appeal of the composition in the streetscape. The house is of additional importance on account of its associations with an early nineteenth-century urban planning project initiated by the Duke of Devonshire, centred on Grattan (originally Market) Square.
