This building is known as 'Ghan House'. It is described by Casey and Rowan (1993, 178) as 'an early to mid 18th century house already begun by Mr. Stannus in 1726 when he is reported to have stolen the flagstones from the nearby Abbey and used them as a pavement before his own front door . . .'
