What is recorded here

Situated on the lower eastern slopes of the Great Sugar Loaf mountain. A Man-made underground passage (WI007-066002-) and possible hut sites excavated by Lucas (1970, 166) during which potsherds and worked flint pebbles were found, and which subsequently produced a whetstone, quernstone, and spindle whorl (NMI 1970-164-7). The opening of the Man-made underground passage is still visible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
