On the lower S-facing slope of Kilmacoliver Hill, overlooking the valley of the River Suir, S of Kilkieran graveyard (KK034-032002-) which is associated with the early medieval monastery of Kilkieran. Carrigan (1905, vol. 4, 245) relates a legend associated with St Kieran which says that the saint, 'lived in a small house in Mrs. Laurence's corn-haggard, one field south of Kilkieran church [KK034-032001-]'. There is a possibility that the saint occupied a cell S of Kilkieran, however, even if this was true, the precise location is unknown. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 15 August 2018
