Detached three-bay two-storey house with attic and central breakfront, built c.1770, and canted bay windows added to north elevation c.1870 and extensions to rear (south). Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, rendered coping to gables, cast-iron rainwater goods and recent rooflight. Ruled-and-lined rendered walls with raised plinth and quoins. Square-headed window openings with moulded render architraves to first floor windows having swag over central window, limestone sills and eight-over-eight and two-over-two timber sliding sash windows. One-over-one timber sash windows to canted bays, paired to north elevations. Round-headed door opening with moulded render surround stained glass overlight, sidelights, timber panelled door with stained glass lights and limestone threshold. Part-rusticated ashlar boundary wall with smooth render arch to pedestrian entrance having wrought-iron gate and limestone steps. Smooth-render boundary wall to north with limestone coping and rubble stone wall to east with vehicular gateway.
This house contains a notable mix of Georgian and Victorian features, with the retention of the fenestration from each period being of particular note. The fine render detailing and stained glass add artistic interest. The ashlar limestone walls contribute to its setting and the streetscape.
