Attached three-bay two-storey with attic house and public house, dated 1875. Two-storey return to west. Pitched slate roofs, roll-top clay ridge tiles, painted smooth rendered chimneystacks with chamfered bases and corbelled caps, segmental verge cappings to main building, parapet with moulded coping to return, moulded cast-iron gutters with serrated edges to east elevation, gabled dormered windows with terracotta finials and scalloped barges. Painted smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walling, dentilled eaves course, channelled straight quoins to first floor, block-and-start projecting quoins to ground floor, wreath with raised lettering 'AD 1875' below chimney to north elevation of return building. Square-headed window openings to east elevation, elaborate kneed-and-lugged architraves with segmental friezes incorporating swags, continuous sill course, aluminium casement windows; round-headed window openings to attic, main block, and north elevation first floor return, painted moulded render surrounds, painted sills, aluminium casements windows. Pedimented openings to ground floor shopfrontage, fluted pilasters flanking display windows, plain panel over, glazed decorative tiled panels to stall risers. Square-headed door openings, hardwood vertically-sheeted doors, plain-glazed overlights, pedimented over-doors. Street fronted, corner-sited , bridge over Castletown River to north, Dundalk town centre to south.
This house is prominently located at the north approach to Dundalk town. The delicate rendered detailing is of particular interest, especially the two shopfronts and pediments. Decorative tiled panels to the stall risers are also worthy of note.
