What is recorded here

Half a kilometre of green rock sits in Roaringwater Bay, close enough to Schull that the island seems to be teasing the mainland rather than belonging to it. Copper was torn from its belly between 1820 and 1874, filling the air with hammer blows and giving a hundred men a reason to leave their homes. The mines closed, the families thinned, and Paddy McCarthy became the last steady shadow on the land before he left in 1965. Since then the island has jumped from owner to owner like a horse resisting a new bridle, until a stranger bought it after watching a video during the pandemic.
Horse Island is recorded as a islet in County Cork. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
Horse Island, located off the coast of County Cork, was historically associated with fishing and small-scale agriculture. It is notable for its role in local maritime traditions and as a seasonal residence for islanders connected to the broader Blasket Islands community.
