Holywell Bay in Cornwall features a band of hard, pale grey to white Cornish granite, part of the late Devonian to early Carboniferous intrusive igneous rocks. The bay is notable for its dramatic sea cliffs and wave-cut platforms, formed by coastal erosion of the resistant granite, which is part of the broader Cornubian Batholith.
