What is recorded here

Holy well sites in Mid Cork, Ireland were places where people performed rounds, repeated walks or gestures that gave the body and mind a rhythm. The well itself has no visible surface trace now, but a standing stone stood about seventy metres to the west, marking the edge of a landscape where water, stone and movement belonged together. It is easy to imagine someone walking that distance in rain or darkness, not lost but practicing attention.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Standing stone (CO071-078----) stood c. 70m to W. No visible surface trace. According to O'Donoghue (1986, 263), '"rounds"were performed here'.
