You can still walk the stations at the hidden well beside Lough Trusk on 29th June, keeping a ritual that outlived the people who first named it. The mountains east of Barnesmore may have swallowed its exact mark, but they did not erase the reason for remembering it.

Unlocated holy well possibly located in the townland of Trusk which was recorded by Ó Muirgheasa in 1936 (No. 73). Ó Muirgheasa recorded that 'coming inland we find a Holy Well in the mountains to the east of Barnesmore, and on the Donegal side of Lough Trusk. Stations are still made there on 29th June' (Ó Muirgheasa 1936, 155). It is not clear what townland this holy well was located in, it may have been located in another townland close to Lough Trusk. The holy well in Trusk is traditionally associated with Saint Brecan, a 6th-century Irish saint known for his ascetic practices and healing miracles. Locally, the well was visited for curing eye ailments and general healing, with rituals often involving the collection of water on specific feast days.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
