Holy well in Roundwood

Unlocated possible holy well within the townland of Roundwood. According to Lynch (1994, 639) there is a holy well in the townland of Roundwood that is mentioned in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission, Schools Manuscript Collection (IFC S 918: 34/35). Linked to Saint Gobnait, the holy well in Roundwood was traditionally associated with cures for eye ailments and general healing. The well’s mention in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission records suggests it was still known and possibly venerated in more recent times.
