Holy well in Rathnakelliga

According to MacDonagh (1936, 193), there was a holy well known as 'Tubber-Padraig' in Rathnakelliga townland at which 'stations' were performed during penal times. The exact location of this well is not known. Linked to Saint Patrick (Padraig), the holy well at Rathnakelliga was a site of pilgrimage and ritual, particularly during the Penal Times when Catholic practices were suppressed. The performance of 'stations' suggests a tradition of processional devotion, possibly mirroring the Stations of the Cross.
