Holy well in Garrane (templedowney Par.)

Unlocated holy well within townland, described by Gwynn and Gleeson as the 'Holy well of St. Donan, little known locally, remains nearby in Mr. O'Meara's land on the Grananstown road at Grawn', (Gwynn and Gleeson 1962, 214-5). Linked to St. Donan, the well is associated with traditional healing practices and may have been a site of local pilgrimage. Little folklore remains, but its mention in early 20th-century sources suggests it was once more widely recognized in the community.
