Holy well in Baile Eaglaise,tíorabháin

Tobar na bhFaithní: Dense vegetation obscures this well which is situated in poor, marshy land, on the E bank of a stream. The water apparently had curative powers but it is not known whether the well was ever considered holy (An Seabhac 1939, 103). The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Tobar na bhFaithní is associated with St Faithleach (Faithní), a 7th-century Irish saint known for his asceticism and healing miracles. The well's curative properties were traditionally sought, particularly for skin ailments and general weakness, and it may have been a site of pilgrimage in early Christian times.
