What is recorded here

Holy well at Ashwell is shown and named in a reusable Geograph picture. The saved point is the picture's recorded map point.
The holy well at Ashwell is traditionally associated with Saint Audrey (or Aethelthryth), a 7th-century Anglo-Saxon saint and abbess, and is believed to have healing properties, particularly for eye ailments. Local folklore suggests that the well's waters were once part of a network of sacred springs linked to early Christian pilgrimage routes in East Anglia.

The picture record does not grant public access. Use signed public paths and do not enter private land without permission.
