Holt Castle

Holt Castle was built in the 13th century by Roger de Montbegon, a Norman lord, and later held by the powerful Clwyd family. It is important as a strategic medieval fortress in north-east Wales and is remembered for its role in the conflicts between English and Welsh forces during the late Middle Ages.
