Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hms Gaillardia as Sloop (period Unassigned)-(1918). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
HMS Gaillardia was a British sloop built in 1918 and later converted for use as a minesweeper during World War II. It was lost in 1940 after striking a mine off the coast of Scotland, resulting in the loss of all 35 crew members; its wreck remains a war grave and is protected under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986.
