Hms Cheerful

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hms Cheerful as Destroyer (late 19th Century)-(1917). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

HMS Cheerful was a British Royal Navy destroyer launched in 1896 and lost in 1917 during World War I. It was torpedoed and sunk by the German U-boat U-32 in the North Sea, resulting in the loss of all 186 crew members; no cargo was reported to be of particular significance.
